Hello everybody! Today we uploaded the last version of the demo mostly for those who have launch problems on steam. Enjoy!
Greetings everyone!
We upload a new version of the demo with a lot of changes.
WARNING! Delete old version of the demo if you have it installed on your pc. If your monitor resolution isn't 16:9 - choose ANOTHER option in the settings of fullscreen mode.
Fixed bugs:
- change of language bug after load last save (on russian version);
- impossible to complete the demo on square resolutions;
- pull-up animation bug;
- bug near the headquarters in Vietnam;
- spelling errors.
Technical improvement:
- added support for different screen resolutions;
- added AutoSave settings;
- added reset button to default settings;
- most of the images have been replaced for performance optimisation.
Visual and other improvements:
- added new animations of walk, bayonet hit, aiming and shooting, pull-up, entry and exit from the bus/buildings;
- added more interactive moments (removed automatic entry into buildings, bus, etc.));
- added some visual improvements (outline for belts, worn uniforms of the old marines in Vietnam, " MP " on the helmets of the military police, etc.));
- added more detailed description of the final test on the obstacle course;
- dialogue boxes were placed on top of the rain;
- the final scene has been changed a little;
About dialogues and skip function - at the moment it is not possible for technical reasons, also we do not consider it appropriate in our story game. It is important to say that in the full version gameplay will be more dynamic with less dialogues than in the introduction.
I installed the game but it seemed to be unresponsive on the main menu screen, moving the mouse and hitting keys did nothing to fix it
EDIT: figured it out, for some reason my mouse wasn't showing on the screen so I had to guess where it was to progress further.
I could get to the newspaper screen but then the mouse issue stopped me from going further, might be worth toggling space bar for those screens, or allowing the wasd or directional arrows to select options.
it looks great and I really wanna try more of it (and was keen to upload it to my youtube channel as well) but i'll have to wait til these issues are fixed
Hello and thanks for your review) I think that the problem is that you have gamepad connected to your pc. If that's true - you can use gamepad to play the game (aslo navigate all options) or just use mouse+keyboard (but take out gamepad). Please let us know if the problem is gone.
That was the problem, cheers!
I had another go at it, this time got up to Boot Camp (Marine Camp?) and then promptly failed the test...do you have to start the game from the start after failing that test? Was still working out the controls and forgot to head back to the start of the test where the Drill Sargent was thinking that I was done and then couldn't see a way to restart the test (also, maybe there should be a way to quickly skip NPC dialogue, not looking forward to going through everyone's conversation again haha)
After you failed obstacle course you can see game over menu and you can press load last save wich will load last AutoSave (AutoSave icon is a zippo in lower right corner) or you can go to main menu and press continue wich will load last AutoSave too. Aslo you can press same option in the pause menu. In the full game will be another option - restart level wich will restart current level from the start (not the whole chapter). We didnt make any skip dialogue system yet, but many people ask us so we will include this option in the full game.
Well, after failing the (I assume) last obstacle course 8 times... army life may not be for me. :|
Well, nobody tells you that the way to become a marine will be easy)
Maybe you just lost some points of your mission: 3 dolls, 1 target (with 3 hits in body and 3 in head) and 2 sandbag fortification.
Anyway, thanks for playing)
It would be helpful to know what specific task was not fulfilled.
